This site is established and supported by concerned Eastham residents and homeowners who are opposed to the commercial wind energy project  proposed by The Town of Eastham, MA

The Current Status: updated 5/14/2008

The North Eastham Wind Project is officially defunct!

The Eastham Board of Selectmen has sent a letter to the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative formally notifying them that the town could not complete the requirements needed to continue with the Standard Financial Offer which had been awarded to Eastham a year ago.  This marked the formal end of the funding for the $150,000 grant needed to pursue completion of the North Eastham Wind Project.

At the town meeting on Monday on May 5th,  the ad hoc committee wind turbine zoning article was indefinitely postponed.  As things now stand, wind turbines can't be erected in Eastham.  The job of developing a wind turbine zoning bylaw for Eastham now falls on the Eastham Planning Board.

Hopefully, these events mark the  end the town's ill conceived pursuit of industrial class wind generation.

We must remain vigilant to insure that similar ill conceived  projects aren't resurrected in Eastham.  There are still bills pending in the state legislature that would make it much easier to site industrial wind turbines in Eastham.

Many thanks to all who helped stop this misguided and poorly executed project!
