HARMLESS’ HOME NOISE
The Feb. 16 editorial titled "Silence Not Always Golden” points out, “in its fact sheet, the turbine proposal cites a maximum decible level of around 40dba.” What fact sheet are you referencing? What was clearly stated in the legal notice under Section 4 of the town-proposed zoning bylaw is, "noise from the wind facility shall not exceed 60 dba as measured from the nearest property line.” The comparison to 40 dba as “home noise” and thereby acceptable should be subject for debate also.
All residents of Eastham should ask themselves if they are willing to accept going to sleep each summer evening listening to what your comments infer is harmless "home noise."

Editor’s note: The 40 decibel level came from information about the turbines on the Eastham town website.
