The Project
The town would lease land at the site on Nauset Road near the Cape Cod Rail Trail to a private wind developer that will install and operate the wind energy complex.
Four 1.5 Megawatt wind turbines would be installed at locations spread across the site. The height to the top of the turbine blades will be approximately 400 feet. That is as tall as a 40 story building! The turbines would be visible as far away as Provincetown to the north, Chatham to the south and Barnstable to the west.
It is likely that an electrical substation with oil filled equipment will be required on site to connect the turbines to the electrical grid.
